Royal Jordanian and Kuwait Airways have been named as the latest airlines to have the US laptop ban lifted, after a number of carriers also started allowing passengers to take their laptops on US-bound flights last week.
Both Royal Jordanian and Kuwait Airways said they had worked with US officials to tighten security checks on flights to the US from Jordan and Kuwait, the BBC reported.
The US laptop ban was imposed in March on direct flights taking off from eight largely Muslim countries, amid fears that bombs could be hidden in the electronic devices.
The ban was lifted last week on Etihad, Qatar Airways, Emirates and Turkish Airlines.
Stefan Pichler, president of Royal Jordanian, which flies directly to three US cities from Amman, said security measures had been introduced on US-bound flights.
Meanwhile Kuwait Airways which flies from Kuwait to New York via Ireland saw its ban lifted after US officials inspected security measures on its flights.
The US ban is still in place for airlines in Morocco, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, although Saudia, the flagship carrier for Saudi Arabia, has stated that passengers will be able to bring personal electronic devices onboard from July 19.
Royal Air Maroc is also reportedly hopeful that it will see its ban lifted for flights out of Casablanca by the same date.
