Working alongside the ‘on the road’ Educational Development Team, (currently 7 Executives cover the UK), to drive new school, college and university business to the STA Groups Sales Team who are based in Manchester.
Building relationships, following up on leads, attending events, (on a local and national scale), pitching for new educational accounts, we are now looking for someone based in the North London/East Anglia area to continue to grow and develop this region. The territory covers North London, Bucks, Herts, Beds, Essex, Cambs, Suffolk and Norfolk, so the ideal candidate would be based in one of these counties.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
-follow up on leads from groups team and create new leads through own research and cold calling
-develop and maintain relationships with schools, colleges and universities (and Student Unions) through effective relationship management.
-use all opportunities to network with teachers and educational professionals to build a contact base
-present STA Travel brand and products to small and large audiences (eg school parents pre-trip information evenings, Student Union presentations, gap year talks to sixth forms, upwards of 120 students, full business pitches to Heads of Procurement in Universities and at "meet the buyer" events that you set up in your own university accounts to grow your business amongst academics and also the university administrative teams)
-aid conversion with the STA group sales executives based in Manchester, collaborating on leads generated in your region, ensuring a high level of service to all clients is maintained and customer expectations fulfilled
-assist with selling and marketing the ISIC card
-attend relevant events
-work alongside partners and suppliers to convert bookings and deliver on service
-maintain a high level of competitor awareness
-provide feedback on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and sales
Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies required to fulfil the role:
-clearly understands and achieves own and company goals and objectives
-actively uses all opportunities to gain contacts and build customer base
-anticipates, responds to, and seeks to meet the needs of internal and external customers
-a sound travel background, as supporting sales team in creating exciting and educational itineraries for your accounts is a key part of the role
-ability to work as part of a team essential, as the role requires you to generate sales leads and business and pass these on to the sales team to convert those leads (ie you are required to play a hunter/farmer role)
-to be a real self-starter, thoroughly driven as well as possessing entrepreneurial skills are key attributes required for this role, as you will be working from home developing your own sales region
