We are looking for three (3) dynamic, focused and hardworking Business Development Executives with specific regional responsibilities to be based in Northern England, the Midlands and South-West.

 

This role is primarily focused on developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the travel trade and ensuring that AMResorts’ six unique brands and 50+ resorts in the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America remain at the forefront of travel agent and tour operator sales staff recommendations.

 

A passion for delivering engaging, memorable and informative training sessions and events is essential to ensure our client stands out in a busy marketplace. The successful candidate will be friendly and approachable with the ability to communicate eloquently and effectively on all levels and through a variety of channels. They should be highly organised and have the drive and motivation to work independently for the majority of their time, however contribute and work as a member of the Business Development team of 4, reporting directly to the Business Development Manager.

 

The role requires the individual to work remotely from home, with 4 days per week on the road within the designated region, regular evening work, overnight stays where necessary and occasional weekends. We are pleased to offer a competitive salary and performance bonus plus familiarisation trips to the Caribbean, Mexico and Central America.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting client product/service training to the UK & Irish travel trade using both verbal and written formats. To include regular travel agency and tour operator sales calls throughout the UK & Ireland in order to carry out face-to-face training as well as organising and leading webinars.
  • Creating and maintaining training presentations (verbal, written and visual elements), each of which will be to a high standard and adhere to the specific brand guidelines of Cara Hotel Marketing’s clients.
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with the UK & Irish travel trade including travel agents, tour operators, tourist boards and the trade media.
  • Coordinating and managing your own day-to-day schedule, with input and guidance as required from the Business Development Manager.
  • Keeping abreast of new client product developments to ensure that these are effectively communicated to the travel trade.
  • Attending (and hosting where applicable) travel trade, consumer and media shows/events, including the organisation and coordination of certain events. Regular evening and occasional weekend participation will be required.
  • Delivering a monthly report to the Business Development Manager which includes a summary of all activity carried out during the past month and an outline of planned activity in the month ahead. In conjunction with this, to also conduct a SWOT analysis based on activities carried out in the past month.
  • Based on feedback received from the travel trade, giving input to the Business Development Manager regarding the development of new booking incentive programmes for the UK & Irish market.
  • Incorporating any relevant UK & Irish market booking incentives into training presentations, assisting the Business Development Manager in recapping and consolidating all bookings reported as a result of booking incentives, and coordinating the subsequent issuing of booking incentive prizes.
  • Identifying potential FAM Trip invitees, creating FAM trip itineraries (including the arrangement of all logistics relating to the trip) as well as hosting selected client UK & Irish market FAM trips.
  • Updating client social media channels on a regular basis with any relevant UK & Irish business development activity (e.g. uploading images from a travel agent event).
  • Analysing and interpreting monthly client statistical reporting in order to be fully aware of the performance of UK & Irish tour operator partners in relation to revenue targets, with the purpose of identifying, arranging and creating relevant product training sessions.
  • Regular visits to the Cara Hotel Marketing head office in Wimbledon, London as required for meetings, updates and training sessions organised by the Business Development Manager.
  • Having access to adequate storage space at base location for any client sales collateral which will be required for sales calls and events. This includes maintaining stock levels at base location and pre-ordering stock from the London office as required.
  • Collecting travel agent contact information during sales calls and events, and communicating this information in a timely manner and appropriate format to the Administration & Database Manager and Marketing & PR Team in order for the UK & Irish travel agent database to be updated accordingly.
  • Responding in a timely manner to travel agent queries and assisting with any special requests and support they may need.
  • As and when required, contributing to the company’s client reports, with specific reference to business development events, booking incentive updates and FAM trip updates (where appropriate) relating to the UK & Irish markets.
  • Carrying out ad hoc administrative tasks as and when required to support the rest of the Cara Hotel Marketing team.
  • Regular driving is required; therefore a full and clean driving licence valid in the UK is essential.

 

Person Profile

  • Eloquent and well-spoken with excellent presentation skills.

  • An interest in and basic understanding of the travel industry.
  • Enjoys frequent travel and is able to work away from home on their own for the majority of the working week. Also enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Prefers working to a more flexible schedule, with regular evening and occasional weekend work required.
  • Self-motivated, results oriented with a positive outlook.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to adapt and work across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Professional manner at all times.
  • Network of industry contacts and relationships beneficial.
  • Good IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Power Point and Microsoft Excel.
  • A creative thinker who also has strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively analyse and interpret information.
  • Sound business and commercial acumen.
