Destination Trading Manager - Short haul

Our Destination Trading Managers are responsible for the end-to-end commercial performance of their destinations – from managing supply, pricing and merchandising, to trading performance, profitability and influencing marketing spend and focus.
You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing product and commercial strategies, preparing and analysing data and using this insight to implement pricing strategies, promotions and onsite merchandising to drive improved performance.
Take ownership of end-to-end performance and be the key point of contact across the business for your destinations
Create, develop and implement destination strategies for these areas ensuring stakeholders are in agreement and are working to the same goals/initiatives
Monitor daily trading data for your destinations to identify trends, risks and opportunities for growth
Ensure we have the right product available in line with demand and market trends, work with our Direct and Third-Party supply teams to ensure we have the best price point and offers in the market for our core hotels
Provide analysis of demand trends both onsite and within the wider market using internal and external data sources
Create and execute pricing and promotion strategies based on commercial data and market insight to drive improved performance based on identified KPI metrics
Track the ROI impact on margin changes, iterate and adapt
Using data analysis, make recommendations to various internal departments to drive improved performance
Prepare comprehensive analysis to deliver in destination trading meetings, ensuring it is adapted for the relevant audience
Be responsible for the end-to-end customer journey, including merchandising of landing pages, hotel content and rates
Work closely with Performance Marketing team to provide insight on traffic performance, ROI and conversion metrics to inform spend allocation through PPC and meta channels
Identify any barriers to sale and work with relevant stakeholders to get them resolved in a timely manner
Be responsible for identifying the best deals and merchandising them on our website and through our marketing activities
Provide Sales team training and support
Support with partnership marketing funding and activity
A travel industry background is essential for this role – you may have previously worked as a Product or Destination Manager or within a commercial role within the travel industry.
To be considered for this role, we need you to have the following skills, experience and qualifications:
Previous hands-on experience in trading a destination including pricing and product development, preferably at an OTA or Tour Operator
Strong commercial acumen gained through a working knowledge of trading and B2C selling of products online
Short haul beach destination knowledge and experience
Strong analytical skills and ability to work with MI/BI tools to extract relevant information and create insight from data
Successful in cross-functional working
Self-starter and ability to prioritise own and others’ time effectively
Previous experience in team management, desirable
Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage significant workloads, working at a fast pace and with changing priorities
