Cruise operator Royal Caribbean will fund an extraordinary £20,000 store makeover for one lucky independent travel agency. The winning agency will then receive support to host a launch party at their newly refurbished store, where one customer will be gifted a Royal Caribbean cruise holiday for two on Independence of the Seas. Two travel agencies will be runners-up, each receiving a bespoke point of sale kit worth £1,000.
Put your creative thinking caps on to make a visual representation of how you’d design your own extraordinary store. It could be a sketch, created in a shoebox, built using lego, or even made using matchsticks – the more unusual the material the better. Maybe your children, nieces and nephews would like to make the model? The extraordinary store designs don’t need to be achievable within £20,000 or even technically feasible, but we're looking for creative flair and wow-factor concepts. Think mezzanine levels, nautical murals, themed seating areas, snazzy tech equipment or even food stalls to entice new customers. Have fun with it! We’ll be scoring your models on presentation quality, content and your written discussion. You could look at Royal Caribbean ships for inspiration.
When your extraordinary store design is complete, post it to us at TTG Media, Friars House, 160 Blackfriars Road, London SE1 8EZ. If your design is 3D but won't travel well, please photograph it against a well-lit white background. If your design is 2D, you can upload an image file on the entry form. All entries must be submitted between June 1 and August 3.
Once agents have submitted their extraordinary store designs, we will shortlist five agencies and invite representatives from each to the TTG offices for a face-to-face interview on September 7. These five agencies will also be invited to the TTG Travel Awards, taking place on September 18 at The Lyceum Theatre and Savoy hotel.
We used cutouts from a Royal Caribbean brochure to get creative with a shoebox, created a simple drawing and used a digital representation to show a technology-led design.
