It gives me great pleasure to be able to share the wonderful and inspiring feedback from our annual Gimme 5 and Fly fam trip, especially knowing how this special event has grown year on year, and how much effort and hard work is involved in making it happen.
For trade partners and agents, it’s the very last word in events and has become one of the most anticipated dates in the calendar, which is as it should be, when you consider how our offering continues to develop, grow and exponentially improve.
It’s been a busy time for us. Last year saw increased airlift to Barbados, the announcement of the re-banding of the Air Passenger Duty tax, and the introduction of new luxury properties, Sandals Barbados and Port Ferdinand, to our hotel offering.
We, at Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc. work closely with the Barbados Tourism Product Authority to ensure that we continue to build a strong portfolio of products and campaigns that keep both longstanding and brand new visitors coming to our island.
As I write this, I still have memories of Crop Over and Kadooment Day fresh in my mind as well as the recent Third Test matches against the West Indies.
We are looking forward to the Red Bull Global Rallycross to Barbados in October, The Food & Wine and Rum Festival in November and The Run Barbados Marathon Weekend which starts in December plus much more to come.
We are also working closely with our airline partners; British Airways on a number of great campaigns, and Thomas Cook Airlines, which launches new direct flights from Glasgow and Manchester in November.
We hope you enjoy this supplement and that it inspires you to come and visit Barbados, the gem of the Caribbean, very soon.
Director, Barbados Tourism Marketing Inc.
