Guide to Selling Cruise 2017

From the sizzling variety of the Caribbean islands and cultural richness of the Danube to the untouched wilderness of Antarctica – there’s no doubt cruising takes holidaymakers to some of the most exciting destinations in the world.

And while there may be some concern about the number of new ships coming into the market in 2017-18, there’s one thing for sure: more capacity equals more choice.

That’s more opportunities for your customers to sail ex-UK, more choice of cruise line within any given region, and new and lesser-known ports to discover.

So, in this, the first of TTG’s three cruise guides this year, we’re setting the scene for selling cruise in 2017, looking at shifts and newcomers in the major cruise regions of the world, and where the opportunities lie.

Next, we take an in-depth look at just two of those new ships coming online this year – MSC Meraviglia and Silversea’s Silver Muse.

Then in our cruise line profile section, we’ve asked cruise lines to give the essential selling information that agents will need to sell their product in 2017, with an overview of their fleets, their top-selling or new itineraries, and their USPs and positioning within the market. As ever, we’ve also included those all-important contact details so you can get in touch with the sales representatives you need, fast.

Having read about new private islands in the Caribbean, unusual itineraries in Croatia, and the first cruise to ever visit Bangladesh, I’m certainly feeling inspired by new places to explore by sea and river.

Where will cruise take you and your clients in 2017?
