USA 2018: Week-long itinerary ideas

One hundred travel agents are now better able to sell the United States as a premier travel destination after taking part in the sixth annual Brand USA UK and Ireland MegaFam.


One hundred travel agents from the United Kingdom and Ireland are now able to better sell the United States as a premier travel destination after taking part in the sixth annual Brand USA UK and Ireland MegaFam.

In partnership with American Airlines, British Airlines, and our destination partners, we recently completed our most successful MegaFam to date! Those 100 agents simultaneously travelled along seven exciting itineraries, spanning 19 states, and Washington, DC.

The seven itineraries highlighted our country to, through, and beyond traditional gateway cities. From the jazz music flowing through the streets of New Orleans, Louisiana, to the indie music scene of the Pacific Northwest, each itinerary revolved around music to celebrate the release of Brand USA’s second giant-screen film, “America’s Musical Journey.” The film follows singer-songwriter Aloe Blacc as he traces Louis Armstrong’s footsteps through the colorful locales where America’s music was born.

The agents experienced everything from country ballads at Stagecoach Festival in Palm Springs, California, to Detroit, Michigan’s Motown Museum, to touring Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley, in Memphis, Tennessee. Other highlights included a baseball game in Washington, DC, rafting on the Colorado River, and incredible views from Seattle, Washington’s Space Needle. The MegaFam culminated with a visit to Nashville, Tennessee where they visited the Grand Ole Opry, RCA Studio B, The Johnny Cash Museum, and Broadway. The agents then shared their experiences before returning home on the inaugural British Airways flight from Nashville to London.
