WTM 2015 Official Daily: Day one

Welcome to World Travel Market London 2015, at ExCeL, London. Today’s programme sums up the key theme of WTM London 2015 – WTM Means Business.

WTM London 2014 facilitated a record £2.5 billion in travel industry deals between exhibitors and senior buyers from the WTM Buyers’ Club. A pre-event poll of WTM participants reveals that more than 4 in 10 expect to conduct more business deals of a greater value at WTM 2015 than last year’s event. With this in mind, we expect the value of deals agreed as a result of WTM 2015 will be greater than £2.5 billion.

One of the reasons a record amount of business is being predicted is the hugely successful WTM Speed Networking programme, which has been a great success since its introduction in 2009. Today’s hour-long session takes place before the exhibition opens at 9am. This means exhibitors are able to spend the whole of the four days of the exhibition on their stand, giving them even more time to conclude deals with WTM Buyers’ Club members.


Also, don’t miss the extra speed networking session on Thursday to help facilitate post-WTM business deals.


Today is exhibitor invite-only and is focused on business, and for our WTM Leaders Lunch (formerly Captains of Industry) we have former Man United chief executive David Gill addressing the 200 senior delegates on how to grow a successful global brand.
