One of TTG’s 30 under 30 for 2016/7, Jamie-Lee Abtar is a brand and destination champion, travel marketer and Caribbean expert.
A regular speaker on topical travel issues, Jamie-Lee has an impressive history of helping travel brands to build strong profitable relationships with their customers, conceptualising and executing innovative ideas to drive their business.
With a proud Caribbean heritage and as a determined advocate for the Caribbean region, Jamie-Lee has spearheaded research into the African/Caribbean travel market in partnership with The Voice newspaper, challenging misconceptions about Afro/Caribbean travellers.
Jamie-Lee’s extensive knowledge and passion for the Caribbean can be seen once more through her work as the UK Chapter Manager for the Caribbean Tourism Organisation. The CTO represents more than 80 travel related companies from across the travel industry, including national tourist offices, tour operators, travel agencies, hotels, representation companies, airlines, cruises and DMCs. Through this role, Jamie-Lee strives to develop greater awareness of the Caribbean and maximise marketing and PR opportunities for its members.

With more than 25 years’ experience in travel, John Bevan has sat on every side of the industry fence.
John joined dnata in November 2017, as Chief Executive Officer B2B Europe, a move that brought him and his family back to the UK and ended his four-year stint as COO of Spafinder Wellness based in Miami; a role that he had graduated on to from being the online media giant’s Managing Director in London.In May 2018,John’s role within dnata expanded and he assumed responsibility for all B2B and B2C trading brands within the UK.
Prior to this, John was Managing Director at private travel club Voyage Privé, helping to establish its UK arm and grow membership to 1.2 million.
John is perhaps best-known for his association with online agent Lastminute.com, both as Managing Director and UK Vice-President.
Additionally, he has spent time as Group Marketing and Product Director of Online Travel Corporation and Managing Director of Emap Digital Travel.
He has held a number of non-executive director posts in travel, as well as serving on both the ITT and ABTA boards.
CEO, Tink Labs
Paul Frampton Calero is a highly experienced business leader and one of the UK’s defining voices in disruption and marketing. Paul’s passion for technology led him to take on a tech leadership role as the CEO of travel tech startup Tink Labs (owner of handy). Paul oversees the EMEA business and is fast becoming a thought leader for transformation in the hospitality industry.
He was previously the UK & Ireland CEO of Havas Media Group where he oversaw a £100m business with 900 staff that included 10 operating companies with a focus on media, digital marketing, creative development, experiential, consulting and data/analytics.
Paul is adept at business transformation following his instrumental role in leading 24 Havas-owned businesses together under one roof in Kings Cross. He led the acquisition of 3 businesses ranging from insight & trends to data and technology consulting to entertainment. Paul made an early move in to digital in 2001 and was one of the pioneers of digital marketing. He regularly partners with CEO’s and other C Level influencers to advise and affect the necessary change.
Paul believes that innovative marketing, alongside agility and authenticity are critical requirements for any business to thrive in today’s highly competitive and ever-evolving climate.
Paul is an active supporter of the start-up community and is an NED and mentor to some of the leading lights of the entrepreneurial space as well as Chair of Big Youth Group, an organisation designed to improve the odds for young people.

Iain Powell, one of TTG’s 30 under 30 for 2015/16, is an established and well-respected figure in the Travel Industry. With roles to date centred around Sales and Account Management, Iain has a natural ability to build relationships and drive improved performance.
After largely falling in to a career in Travel, Iain has been fortunate to work for industry leading companies including Virgin Holidays, TUI, Carnival UK and now Saga Travel.
As Head of Trade Sales at Saga, Iain is responsible for the travel agent delivery across all Saga Travel products, spanning Land, Ocean and River based Holidays. After only joining Saga in January 2018, Iain has already grown their trade distribution significantly. With further stretching targets set for the coming years, his focus is firmly set on developing existing relationships, while also seeking new ones.
Starting out in Sales at Virgin Holidays, followed by overseas experience with TUI, is what Iain believes to be the ideal grounding for anyone looking to get into this industry.
Iain is also a keen advocate of mentoring programmes, having benefitted from such guidance over the last 4 years of his career. To that end, Iain has been involved with Southampton University, supporting final year students to gain full time employment after graduating.
