I understand from my contact at Cardnet, the maximum length of time a Chargeback can be imposed by a customer is 120 days. Is this correct?
It is not as simple as 120 days from the transaction. It can be 120 days from the date of departure when you should have provided the holiday and Visa have a maximum claim date of 540 days from the original transaction date! So, potentially a long period ahead before you can be certain there will be no chargeback
Thanks Alan i'm not surpised by your answer but i am dissapointed that Cardent are not making this clear, i have an email from our account manager saying as follows.
Chargebacks could be requested up to 180 days after the original transactions but this has now been reduced to 120 days. I’ve attached some useful information from Visa and included some helpful links from our website.

Is it possible to get Cardnet and other merchant companies to explain the timelines to the trade and make it clear for everyone to understand?
