Conservation specialist operator andBeyond has unveiled expansion plans for 2019 including lodge developments and new tours.
The company, which runs a range of tours as well as operating 29 lodges and camps, is launching a new lodge, andBeyond Tengile River Lodge, in the Sabi Sands Game Reserve in South Africa, and announced a rebuilding of its existing Sossusvlei Desert Lodge in the Namibian desert.
Tengile River Lodge, which is due to open before the end of 2018, features nine suites with river views. While Sossusvlei Desert Lodge is scheduled to close next month (January) for a nine-month rebuilding project which will include construction of a new gym and spa, as well as a two-bedroom villa designed for families.
Both lodges will feature a range of sustainable innovations to reduce their environmental footprints including the reuse of waste water.
New itineraries from andBeyond include the 13-day Endangered Eight Impact Small Group Journey to India where clients will search for endangered species such as the Bengal tiger, one-horned rhino, elephants and lions.
While the Oceans Without Borders Small Group Journey offers travellers the chance to learn about andBeyond’s marine conservation work in the Quirimbas archipelago in northern Mozambique.
The operator has also extended the opening season of its Vira Vira lodge in Chile into winter to allow guests to enjoy activities such as skiing and snowboarding. The lodge is the company’s first property in South America.
