In TTG Luxury: experts predict the future of luxury travel; how agents are rebuilding their business

From remote escapes to high-end staycations, and results of an exclusive luxury agent survey, here’s what’s in the new Summer issue of TTG Luxury.

The Summer issue of TTG Luxury is now out, featuring a range of interviews with leaders in luxury travel on their insights on the current state of play in luxury travel and their predictions for the future.


From the head of Six Senses, to the founder of Abercrombie & Kent, 10 senior figures share what the crisis has meant for their business, and as we emerge, what the opportunities and realities might be for luxury travel.


The issue also contains details of exclusive research into how luxury travel agents have experienced the crisis, what they’re seeing in client enquiries and how they feel their business and travel generally will change.


Travel consultants’ jobs may now more difficult now than ever, but this issue also focuses on a range of agents who have taken the opportunity to make some bold changes despite the crisis, including Haslemere Travel’s shop move in the midst of it all.


There’s also news of a completely new business starting up, focused on advice for the LGBT+ traveller; the story of a new hotel being created on a train on a railway bridge in South Africa; and Etihad’s new Wellness Ambassadors.


Summer’s TTG Luxury also offers up a wide range of travel ideas that reflect how affluent consumers might now wish to travel, covering suggestions for privatised travel experiences; remote getaways; and trips with immunity boosting and wellbeing at their core.


With the domestic hospitality sector due to open on 4 July, and a predicted spike in staycations for the summer, agents can read about some of the most exclusive options for clients to escape to in the UK & Ireland, as well as a review of hotels at the popular Farncombe Estate in the Cotswolds.


There’s also the story of the TTG Luxury Journey, which saw six luxury travel consultants explore the Maldives, just as the crisis was taking hold elsewhere and what they made of COMO Cocoa Island, COMO Maalifushi and Gili Lankanfushi.


Added to all that is a look at the work of some of the world’s best hotel designers – from Bill Bensley, to Jean-Michel Gathy – as we dream of travelling again.


The issue also uses the regular In Season section look at ways you can boost your own wellbeing, and lift your own homeworking set-up, while Arrivals looks at some new hotels and products to get excited about.


There are also reviews of one of the world’s most wellness-focused contemporary hotels, Equinox Hotel Hudson Yards in New York, and the new Anantara Tozeur Resort in Tunisia, for a stylish desert escape.
