Four Seasons' Colombian duo draws closer

Four Seasons Hotel Bogota is a reworking of the city’s former Hotel Charleston and when it opens in April, the group said it will “usher in a new era in luxury hospitality in one of the world’s most exciting destinations”.

The completely remodelled building joins the just-opened Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota.

More than half of the Four Seasons Hotel Bogota inventory will be suites and all have been designed by Lauren Rotett, of US practice Rotett Studio, which has an extensive portfolio of corporate and hospitality projects.

The hotel is in the heart of the city’s Zona T, where there are several blocks of pedestrian-only streets with restaurants, nightspots and Calle de la Moda, or Fashion Avenue.

“Our two Four Seasons hotels in Bogota complement each other, and both are unlike any other in the world,” said general manager Luis Argote, who grew up in the city.

Bathrooms have been completely replaced, and in-room technology overhauled throughout, while a new spa will offer treatments by French brand Biologique Recherche.

Four Seasons will also launch Kuru, overseen by chef Pablo Penalosa and inspired by Japanese robata grill cooking. The grill features prominently at the centre of the restaurant, which also has a sushi bar and has been given streetfront and back terraces by designer Saul Sasson.
