Emirates to resume flights to Seychelles
Emirates is to resume services to Seychelles from 1 August, coinciding with the country’s re-opening to international tourists.
The country initially only allowed private jets to enter, but has widened its arrangements for commercial flights from next month.
Emirates will be operating flights to Seychelles five times a week with a Boeing 777-300ER from Dubai, with UK connections.
The airline is also planning to increase its services to the Maldives from the current five a week, to six times a week from 4 August to meet customer demand.
Travel to both countries will be possible additionally via Emirates Holidays, which is now offering lower deposits from £100.
In addition to its usual phone and online contact points, the operator is also launching a video appointment service.
Meanwhile, Emirates has revised its booking policies to offer more flexibility, with customers disrupted by Covid-19 related flight or travel restrictions able to hold on to their ticket for up to 24 months; request travel vouchers to offset against future Emirates purchases; or request refunds via an online form on Emirates; or via agent/operator.
Emirates has now resurrected routes to 60 destinations.
While Seychelles made it onto the UK government’s travel corridor list, meaning no return quarantine is expected, entry requirements and barriers are currently still in place for British travellers for now.
For those who do make it into the country, the Four Seasons Resort Seychelles on Desroches Island is now open for bookings exclusively for its Presidential Villa and multi-bedroom Residence Villas, turning it into virtually a private island for the time being.
The rest of the island is not scheduled to re-open until 1 October, which means guests could experience it for now on a near-exclusive basis, with the launch of the new Private Retreats Experience.
The island has its own runway which permits private jet arrivals, and Desroches guests on a Private Retreats Experience will have a 24-hour personal attendant, a private chef to cater to meals in-villa and range of island activities.
Rates for the Private Retreats Experience start from €9,350 per night.
