Scheduled to open in 2022, Mandarin Oriental, Phuket will be on one of the few undeveloped beachfront sites on the west coast of the island.
Overlooking Laem Singh Bay, the new-build beachfront project will have 105 rooms, including 37 pool villas with views of the Andaman Sea, as well as three restaurants and bars and a beach club. There will also be a Spa at Mandarin Oriental, two pools and a kid’s club.
The project is being developed by Grand Larn Luang Co on Thailand’s largest island and will be the second hotel in the country for Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, which already has a hotel on the Chao Phraya River in central Bangkok.
MOHG also recently announced it would open a second hotel in Italy, following the signing of a deal to manage CastaDiva Resort & Spa on Lake Como.
Following a refurbishment, that hotel will be rebranded as the Mandarin Oriental, Lake Como in spring 2019.
