Another new project for Nobu and De Niro: this time in Tel Aviv, where a boutique hotel is being planned

Nobu Hotel Tel Aviv will be the company’s 17th property as it aims to open 20 hotels around the world by 2020.

The brand, which was founded by Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa, Hollywood acting legend Robert De Niro (both pictured above) and film producer Meir Teper, also opened its latest property Nobu Hotel Marbella, Spain in March.

An opening date for the Tel Aviv hotel has not yet been confirmed but the company said it would feature 38 rooms as well as a garden, fitness centre, pool, outdoor spaces and a private rooftop area.

Trevor Howell, Nobu Hospitality Group’s chief executive, said: “This is an exciting new project and coupled with Tel Aviv’s presence as a major high-tech and business centre, and the strong tourism market in the city, the project fits perfectly with our global clientele.”

Last year, the brand opened four properties including its first UK location – Nobu Hotel Shoreditch in London – as well as Nobu Hotel Ibiza and two hotels in California.

Nobu already has further hotels in development in Barcelona, Riyadh, Los Cabos, Chicago, Toronto, Sao Paulo and Atlanta.

The hotels in Riyadh, Los Cabos, Chicago and Barcelona are due to open during the course of this year.
