The Arts Club is one of the capital’s most prestigious and sought after membership locales and also features 16 hotel rooms and suites that opened at the end of 2015.
The brand will now be used to expand into clubs overseas, initially in Dubai and Los Angeles. There will also be an additional club opening in London’s Canary Wharf in 2020.
First up in the expansion will be the Arts Club Dubai set to open in 2019 in the new ICD Brookfield Place, which is being designed by UK architects Foster + Partners.
The club will be in emirate’s Dubai International Financial Centre area and will include roof terrace and rooftop water feature within 23,000 square feet of outdoor terracing. It will also feature three restaurants and bars, a cigar club and art exhibition spaces.
The Arts Club Los Angeles will open in 2020 on Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, featuring 14 hotel rooms. There will also be a rooftop pool, screening rooms, restaurants and bars and an art gallery.
Alice Chadwyck-Healey, executive director of The Arts Club, said: “We feel the time is right to expand beyond London and bring our unique Arts Club offer to a global audience. The appetite both for first class hospitality and unparalleled art and events programmes is strong in both Dubai and LA, making them the natural choices for our first overseas clubs. Our expansion plans have been meticulously thought out and will be rolled out over the next three years.”
The original Arts Club on London’s Dover Street is also due to get a “medical gym”, opening opposite the club later this year in partnership with Lanserhof, which is known for medical spas in Germany and Austria.
The London Lanserhof outpost will be headed up by former Chiva Som general manager Sheila McCann. She is also now general manager of Grayshott Health Spa in Surrey, which Lanserhof acquired last August and plans to refurbish.
