Plaza Premium continues $55 million expansion spree

Plaza Premium is spending $55 million on 15 new lounges and hotels at these airports, including last month’s opening of its short-stay hotel brand Aerotel at Heathrow’s Terminal 3.

Forthcoming developments include a new Plaza Premium Lounge at Dubai International’s Terminal 3, which is due to open in December and will be the airport’s largest “pay-per-use” lounge.

The first half of 2020 will see the opening of new lounges at Toronto Pearson International and Sydney airport’s Terminal 1, while Plaza Premium will also make its US debut next year with domestic and international lounges opening at Dallas Fort Worth International and an international lounge at Denver International.

Song Hoi-see, founder and chief executive of Plaza Premium Group, said: “2019 and 2020 mark a big leap forward for Plaza Premium Group and we are committed to serving over 16 million travellers by the end of 2020 – a 10% increase compared to where we are now.

“Our businesses have been going from strength to strength thanks to our airport, airline and corporate partners, and our valued guests.”

Premium Plaza will also be opening new lounges at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International and its home city of Hong Kong in the next few months, while another Aerotel property, which allows rooms to be booked for between six and 24 hours, is due to open at Sydney airport in the third quarter of 2020.

By the end of next year, the company said it would be operating in more than 175 locations at 47 international airports.
