Prestige Holidays unveils three-week private jet tour around South America

In what will be its first private jet excursion, Prestige will take guests to Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, the Falkland Islands, Iguassu Falls and Easter Island.

The trip will also include a high-end train journey to Machu Picchu and a four-day cruise to the Galapagos Islands, before finishing in Havana. Guests will stay in many Belmond hotels along the way, as well as other leading hotels in destinations.

The first five days also include talks by world-famous traveller Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who will interact with guests and give talks about his adventures and expeditions.

Veteran ITV journalist John Stapleton will join the tour in Buenos Aires to speak about his experience reporting on the Falklands war.

Departing 6 November 2017, prices for the tour start from £34,995 per person, which David Skillicorn, general manager of Prestige Holidays, said represented “great value” in the private jet market.

“This is great value considering the high standard of accommodation provided and all the inclusions. The itinerary ticks off a number of ‘bucket list’ destinations and will not disappoint even the most discerning clients,” he said.

He added that South America was chosen for the first private jet itinerary based on Prestige working with an expert in the region.

“South America also lends itself well to this kind of travel. We know that some clients find travel in South America daunting, so our tour makes it easy, comfortable and safe to see the very best this continent has to offer in just three weeks,” Skillicorn said.

He said Prestige had identified a gap in the market for a UK private jet charter that would compete with similar tours which tend to operate from the US or Australia. Prestige has contracted the aircraft, beds and cruise, with Skillicorn having cooperated and worked with Aeronexus, the management of the airline, for many years.

The tour price includes air travel on a private Boeing 767 with 90 lie-flat seats from Stansted, 19 nights in five-star (or best available) accommodation, dining throughout, overseas transport with English speaking guides, a full programme of excursions with entrance fees, tipping and taxes and the services of Prestige’s Tour Expedition Team, which includes a doctor.

The product is fully commissionable and agents have been invited to visit the private jet at Stansted on Tuesday, hosted by Prestige, Belmond and tour manager, Gary Bartelings.
