The line said it had worked with the Greek government to restart operations out of Athens from 3 July, with Seabourn Ovation able to offer a series of seven-day cruises around the Greek islands.

Longer 14-day voyages will also be available and some sailings will also take in Cyprus calls.

The voyages will be open for booking from 12 April and ports will include Agios Nikolaos, Rhodes, Mykonos, Nafplion, Limassol, Patmos, Rhodes, Thira, Spetses and Paphos.

“We’re grateful to the people of Greece for welcoming Seabourn back to the Mediterranean this summer,” said Josh Leibowitz, president of Seabourn.

The cruises are open to any fully vaccinated guests, which the line clarified as passengers having received the final dose of an approved vaccine a minimum of 14 days before boarding.

Approved forms of documentation will be confirmed closer to the time of departure and must be shown at the terminal prior to boarding, Seabourn said.

“Seabourn has been visiting Greece for more than 30 years and we look forward to welcoming their ships back to our unique destinations this summer,” said Greek Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis. “Tourism is a vital part of our economy and our plans place a priority on health and safety to help restore traveller confidence to all.”

Additional initial preventive health measures under Seabourn’s “Travel Safe” programme will also be in place, including health screening questionnaires, face mask requirements, physical distancing and capacity controls for indoor venues, as well as enhanced environmental sanitation and HVAC upgrades.

Guests with existing 2021 Greek Isles bookings will be notified with specific details for their updated itinerary under the same booking number.
