Wallman will be sharing the results from researching his second best-selling book, Time and How To Spend It, during the summit at The Langham, London on 18 October.

He will explain how the industry can understand what wealthy holidaymakers most value when it comes to spending their time, including seven secrets to “designing time”, and use this information to create travel experiences tapping into these preferences.

“Since we now know that spending on experiences rather than stuff makes us happier, exactly which experiences lead to the most happiness?” said Wallman.

Wallman’s first book Stuffocation looked at the concept of experientialism and he has given keynote speeches at TEDx at the London School of Economics, Google HQ in California and 10 Downing Street.

He is currently sector specialist at the Department for International Trade and advises the UK government on the experience economy.

Wallman’s new book will be available to buy at the summit and he will be signing copies following his talk.

Other speakers will include Mandy Saven, head of food, beverage and hospitality at leading research and advisory firm Stylus, who will be talking about Super-Spender Luxury Travel.

Delegates will also receive a free copy of Stylus’ Top 10 Gen Z Travel Trends report. Gen Z (those aged between 10 and 24) will be the largest cohort of travel consumers globally by 2020 and this report reveals how this age group cares more about personal development, immersive experiences and "planet-positive" journeys.

Other speakers will include Black Tomato co-founder Tom Marchant and interior designer Russell Sage.

• The summit was a sell-out event in 2018, so book your ticket now for £249 (+VAT) before it’s too late.
