With a total of more than 350 rooms combined, Royalton Grenada and Kimpton Kawana Bay are both expected to start welcoming guests in 2020, and Six Senses La Sagesse, on La Sagesse beach, is due to be ready in 2022.

The latter is La Sagesse resort group’s first Caribbean site and is the creation of Range Developments.

Royalton is being built on two beaches in Tamarind Bay and will have 269 rooms, which will make it the largest resort on the island – Radisson Grenada has 231 and Sandals Grenada has 229.

Kimpton will provide 100 rooms on Grand Anse Beach in its first phase.

“Luxury bookings of hotels, resorts and villas have been increasing steadily over the past three years, with year-on-year growth averaging 8%, and the outlook is robust,” Grenada Tourism Authority’s CEO Patricia Maher said.

This comes as Grenada enjoys some of the fastest tourism growth in the Caribbean, according to the Caribbean Tourism Organization.

A record-breaking 528,077 visitors came to Grenada in 2018, up 12% on 2017, and similar results are predicted for 2019.

The islands of Carriacou and Petite Martinique are also experiencing a tourism boom.

Maher added: “Truly experiencing Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique are what captivate our guests, and all our activity reflects the Pure Grenada visitors find here, from the uncrowded beaches, unspoilt rainforest and organic cocoa farms to dive sites teeming with tropical species.

“The island continues to embrace high-quality and environmentally sensitive developments as we pursue our good growth strategy.”
