An agent has spoken of her joy at securing her first sale for five weeks.
Michelle Oliver, director of Kinver Travel Centre, jokingly told TTG how she had “almost forgotten how to do a booking” when a call came in on 16 April to enquire about a winter sun break to Tenerife next February.
Oliver, who has been holding the fort at the Staffordshire-based agency while her three consultants are furloughed, said she had last taken a booking on 14 March.
“It was just so much of a shock – I really hadn’t been expecting it. They called on Thursday and booked on Friday.
"Days have been very up and down, mostly down, at the moment,” she said.
“It’s a nice feeling to see someone has some confidence in being able to travel again. I’d say to agents in a similar position as us – just keep going, we will get back to booking again.”
