Anantara has carried out a major refurbishment of the beach villas at its Dhigu resort in the Maldives, Stephen Glennon writes.
Of the 110 rooms on the island, 70 have been given a new ivory and beige colour scheme.
Bathrooms now have both indoor and outdoor spaces with oval bathtubs in the courtyard garden and a separate air-conditioned shower area. The terraces now feature a traditional Maldivian swing.
The villas have also undergone energy efficiency improvements to bring them into line with Anantara’s sustainability targets.
Anantara operates a line of more than 35 luxury hotels and resorts across Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe in locations ranging from cities to deserts to beaches.
