EasyJet Holidays has appointed a chief operating officer and finalised its board ahead of relaunching later this year.
Paul Ablin, easyJet’s current group finance director, will join in September and take responsibility for the delivery of easyJet Holidays’ corporate strategy and business model – leading product delivery, IT, market expansion and distribution.
Prior to joining easyJet, where he has worked for nine years, Ablin held a variety of senior roles at SABMiller plc as well as other organisations such as KPMG, Linklaters, M&S and E&Y.
Meanwhile, Matt Callaghan, easyJet’s head of group risk and assurance, will become easyJet Holidays’ customer director overseeing internal audits, risk management and business resilience.
He will have full accountability for all aspects of the customer experience and journey, leading and implementing strategy to ensure the operator builds “a best-in-class customer facing team and culture”.
Before joining easyJet, Callaghan held a number of senior customer and operational roles at British Airways, including taking responsibility for customer experience across the airline’s operations at Heathrow.
Garry Wilson, easyJet Holidays chief executive, said: “It’s great to be able to announce our final members of my holidays board and I’m confident we have a stand-out team.
“Paul and Matt have incredible experience to bring to our new venture and they also have strong relationships across easyJet to further strengthen our collaboration with the airline.”
