Scylla Cruises has completed its first post Covid-19 sailing after 13 days.
The Swiss line’s vessel nickoVISION took a reduced number of passengers from Passau to Dusseldorf along the Danube, Main and Rhine rivers.
Scylla’s 35 ships are used by European charter clients including Phoenix, Nicko Cruises, Tauck and Riviera Travel. Scylla also has an in-house brand, Viva Cruises.
Scylla, which set sail on 1 June, was the first cruise with the new Covid-19 safety regulations on board, observed by all passengers and crewmembers.
Measures included regular temperature checks and a one-way system in corridors to guarantee optimal social distancing.
“Both guests and crew mastered these challenges with flying colours. Our first post-lockdown river cruise went without a hitch,” said Arno Reitsma, Scylla AG chief executive.
He said passenger satisfaction had been very high and that the river cruise season would now continue.
“We are not yet able to operate on all the European rivers we used to, but we will be gradually adding new routes and expanding our offer,” Reitsma added.
