Inghams has introduced more short breaks plus new flight options and properties for the coming winter sports season, predicting that Brexit currency concerns will not have much impact.

Inghams laughs off Brexit currency concerns with new winter sports offerings

Louise Newton, group head of marketing of parent company Hotelplan, told TTG that Inghams and sister brand Ski Total had “planned far ahead” for the Brexit vote and had hedged currency. “The pound is now around €1.20, which is where it was in 2014, which was a great year,” she said, adding: “Our customers will not find it that different in resort from a few years ago.”

She added however that all-inclusive and chalet packages had proved popular in the last month or so due to their fixed costs to clients.

Inghams is featuring more three and four-night breaks, particularly to Courmayeur, where prices start at £579pp for three nights’ half-board.

Among 90 resorts, Montgenevre in France is added, which straddles the border with Italy and boasts high-altitude, sunny skiing. Prices start from £455pp for a week’s chalet accommodation in December.

New charter flights from Gatwick include Barcelona for Andorra and Venice for Cortina and Arabba.

Three new hotels include the first five-star property in Les Arcs, the new Taj-I Mah, which opens in December with 48 bedrooms and suites. It features high-end dining from Michelin-starred chef Eric Samson and leads in at £1,239pp for a week’s half-board.

Also new is the luxury Muotka Wilderness Lodge in Lapland and the three-star Hotel Rocky Pop in Chamonix, which opens in December and is designed as a contemporary option not usually found in a ski resort. It leads in at £699pp for a week.
