JTA Travel Group is considering reopening its office in Glasgow, following the recent announcements around the proposed restructuring of Travel 2.
If plans go ahead, JTA would look to recruit within the region and assist in prioritising any Travel2 staff who might be looking for re-employment across all roles, including sales, finance and operations.
The announcement comes as JTA start to welcome back several of their staff, including homeworkers and those based at their offices in Birmingham and Peterborough.
“It’s been an extremely challenging time for our industry, and we have already witnessed the demise of some iconic brands,” said Wayne Darrock, group managing director at JTA Travel.
“Like all, our business has suffered in this period and unfortunately we had to furlough several of our staff.
However I am pleased to announce that many of these staff will be coming back to work for us in the weeks ahead.
“We are starting to see consumer confidence returning and as we see more destinations opening up, we are predicting a positive end to 2020.
“We are trade-only, have been around for almost 40 years and have a strong balance sheet.
“We are offering agents the best flexible product options where bookings can be amended and cancelled free of charge. This is supporting agents by giving their customers the extra confidence they might need in making new bookings at this time.”
