Agents are now being offered commission on a luggage storage start-up, which offers holidaymakers a low-cost option to leave their baggage.
Stasher, which launched in 2016, provides a network of local shops, hotels and venues where travellers can leave their bags securely for a few hours or days.
The company is trialling its service with Premier Inn and Accor and recently expanded into a number of European city-break destinations, now operating 300 points across the UK and Ireland, France, Germany, Italy, Denmark and The Netherlands.
The group, which charges customers £6 to leave their baggage for 24 hours, is urging agents to sign up and earn referral commission for bookings.
Jacob Wedderburn-Day, chief executive said: “Time is precious and people want to make the most of it at every stage of their journey. Organising what to do with your luggage can be a real barrier, so we built a solution that’s on-demand and available for everyone.
“It’s a problem for hotel guests too, since not all hotels have space or insurance to cover luggage storage, and even if they do, guests often need storage in town, closer to what they’re doing or where they’re travelling from”.
