Madagascar’s prime minister has announced the end of the country’s recent plague epidemic.
The epidemic broke out in August - with 195 deaths reported in November - but no new cases have been reported since November 3, 2017.
No case involving international travellers has been reported.
Based on currently available information, the World Health Organization estimates that there is a moderate risk of the disease recurring in the country and a slight risk on regional and global levels.
