South Wales agency Nassa Travel hopes to open its second shop in July as part of its ambitious long-term expansion plans.
The company, which started trading through online channels in 2015, opened its first shop in Newport in February 2017.
Director and owner Jayde Nassa told TTG she hoped to open the new store in Cardiff in mid-July after securing premises in the centre of the Welsh capital.
Nassa said she was currently waiting for Abta paperwork to be finalised and had started recruiting for four members of staff for the Cardiff branch.
“We have got premises close to the university,” she added. “We’re planning to move the desks in this week, and I’m hoping to be open from 15 July.”
Nassa said the agency “sells a bit of everything”, adding it works with 350 suppliers and “searches the market for what the customer is looking for”.
“A lot of our business is about online and social media – we have 21,000 Facebook followers – but we want to be on the high street as well,” she added.
“We have a lot of customers from Cardiff who have been asking when we’re going to open a second store, so it makes sense to open in the largest city in south Wales.”
Nassa, who previously worked for Thomas Cook for 10 years, said the new Cardiff shop would be just the start of Nassa Travel’s expansion plans.
“We will open a third shop in 2020. It will be in a secret location, but will still be in south Wales,” she added. “I will probably announce the location when we open our Cardiff store in July.”
Looking further ahead, Nassa has even more ambitious plans to expand the business over the next decade.
“I’m 27 now and, by the time I’m 40, I want to have 15 shops – that’s my objective. They will probably be all over, not just in south Wales,” she said. “We may take it over the [Severn] bridge into England. I’ve also got family in Birmingham, so maybe we will go there too.”
