The travel industry is being urged to help in a new study to evaluate the status of women within management and executive roles in the UK travel sector.
The survey is being conducted by the University of East London, commissioned by the Association of Women in Travel Executives with TTG as the media partner.
The survey is designed to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the role of women within the industry, and give a clearer understanding of the factors that influence women’s progession within travel and tourism.
Findings from the research will then be made available by the AWTE.
Louise Hodges, PR director of the AWTE said: "As the only organisation specifically focussed on the development and empowerment of women in the travel and tourism industry, the Association of Women Travel Executives places great value in our collaboration with the University of East London creating the Women in Travel Empowerment Index.
“This new phase of research will extend further across a wider range of roles within travel and tourism to provide a broader perspective and deeper understanding of the factors currently influencing women’s progression in the industry.
“We are delighted that TTG will be our media partner in this next stage of research and will share the survey with TTG readers - male and female - so we can get as many people within travel and tourism taking part in this ground breaking research."
