Princess Cruises enjoyed a record day of sales in the UK during its £1 deposit campaign yesterday (12 June).
The offer – which allowed guests to book a cruise departing on or after 1 January, 2020 – helped the line to a 40% year-on-year growth in bookings.
Tony Roberts, vice-president Princess Cruises UK and Europe, said the line wished to thank agent partners for their “fantastic support” during the day, held for a third year.
“To receive such strong backing from across the trade was greatly appreciated by the team and me, and I’m sure the spike in Princess bookings many agents experienced will have made all their hard work worthwhile,” he said.
Roberts added that as a result of the bookings boost it was “clear the offer has now become a real feature in the travel agent calendar”.
“£1 deposit day perfectly exemplifies the pledges we made in our recently launched ‘travel agent promise’, which states we will be easy to do business with, reward our partners and ensure we provide agents with all the brand knowledge they need to sell Princess Cruises.”
