Ambassador Cruise Line has launched its 2023/24 programme, which will see its first ship Ambience return for its second season with new itineraries and the debut of its second ship, Ambition, in March 2023, sailing from seven UK ports.
Ambience will sail a brand new 120-night Grand Round the World Cruise, the line’s longest itinerary to date, while Ambition will sail from Ambassador’s Tilbury homeport as well as six new regional ports – Newcastle, Dundee, Liverpool, Belfast, Bristol and Falmouth.
Together, the two ships will sail to 58 countries across six continents, calling at 165 ports and covering more than 176,000 nautical miles. They will both sail a series of themed cruises, as well as several multigenerational sailings. Chief executive Christian Verhounig said he hoped Ambassador’s plans for 2023/24 would inspire agents and guests alike.
“We are extremely excited to be able to offer our guests several very attractive launch offers, a range of new and exciting itineraries as part of our 2023/24 programme, and launch our second ship Ambition’s inaugural season," he said.
"Our ethos of premium-value, authentic and friendly cruising remains our focus. It is a privilege to launch Ambassador’s new season and we hope both the travel trade and our guests benefit from the excellent value fares and offers across our ships.”
Launch offers includes savings of up to 25% on full fares that include premium drinks, free Wi-Fi, 20% discounts on Ambassador’s two top drinks packages, up to £40 onboard credit (per cabin per night) on all category six cabins and above, and group booking deals – including a 5% group booking discount on select sailings, free additional places, a welcome cocktail party and preferential group dining options.
Ambassador is the UK’s newest cruise line, the first to be launched for a decade. Ambience has an average guest capacity of 1,400 and has been fitted with a range of technologies to boost its sustainability credentials, including a new wastewater treatment system and technologies to reduce nitrous oxide emissions by 95% and sulphur oxide emissions by 80%.
Its 120-night Grand Round the World Cruise will call in 24 countries across six continents, visiting 34 ports and transiting the Panama Canal on the way. It will sail via the Azores and the Caribbean, call in New Zealand and Australia before navigating south-east Asia and the Indian Ocean, returning via Kenya, South Africa, Tristan da Cunha, Latin America, Cape Verde, Casablanca and Lisbon. The trip leads in from £9,229pp.
Ambition, meanwhile, can accommodate 1,200 guests across its 713 cabins. Its six-night maiden voyage will depart on 4 March 2023, sailing to Norway, Denmark and Sweden. In total, it will sail 49 itineraries during its inaugural season, with a focus on regional departures.
Itineraries lead in from £569pp and include Nordic cruises, a 38-night Christmas and New Year in the West Indies and Dutch Antilles sailing and a 42-night Amazon and West Indies Adventure.
The line will also allocate 89 cabins on each ship for solo travellers with a special single supplement, with solos sailing for six nights or more eligible for a special programme of events designed to help them get to know like-minded guests and the ship’s crew.
