British Airways is to launch a new route from Heathrow to Islamabad in Pakistan next year.
The airline will operate the service three times per week from June 2, 2019, using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner including economy, premium economy and Club World cabins.
Robert Williams, BA’s head of sales for Asia Pacific and the Middle East, said: “It’s exciting to be flying between Islamabad and Heathrow from next year, which we believe will be particularly popular with the British Pakistani community who want to visit, or be visited by, their relatives.”
Islamabad will be BA’s fourth new long-haul route to be launched in 2019 – the carrier will also be operating to Pittsburgh and Charleston, as well as Osaka in Japan.
Thomas Drew, British high commissioner to Pakistan, added: “I hope that it will allow more people from the UK to discover, like I have, what a beautiful country Pakistan is.”
Heathrow-Islamabad flights will operate on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, with return services on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
