British Airways is gearing up for a very busy festive period between now and the start of 2020.
One million people will take to the skies with BA during the Christmas period this year.
With 210 BA flights on 25 December and 721 on New Year’s Eve, the airline is expecting to serve 100,000 traditional dinners with 450,000 brussels sprouts, 360,000 roast potatoes, 11,000kg of turkey and 135,000 mince pies.
It will also deliver more than 1.5 million bags from 16 to 27 December and show 50 hours of Christmas films, TV and audio such as Home Alone, The Holiday, Elf, Gavin and Stacey and The Nutcracker.
Long-haul travellers will be jet-setting to New York, Los Angeles, Johannesburg and Cape Town, while the busiest short-haul route is to Paris this festive season.
“We’re proud to fly our customers to every corner of the globe to reunite them with friends and family during such an important time of the year,” said Carolina Martinoli, British Airways’ director of brand and customer experience.
“We hope they enjoy the Christmas touches we have brought to their flights – helping our customers and colleagues get in the festive spirit.”
