British Airways will take delivery of its first 787-10 Dreamliner aircraft in the new year.
It will enter service in February and will be deployed on a new Heathrow-Atlanta route.
BA’s Dreamliner will offer four classes of cabin, with eight seats in First and 48 in its new Club cabin.
Its World Traveller Plus cabin will feature 35 seats and World Traveller 165.
Improvements offered by the Dreamliner, according to BA, include lower cabin pressure and better humidity, and greater fuel efficiency.
Alex Cruz, BA chairman and chief executive, said: “The delivery of our first 787-10 aircraft marks another significant milestone in our £6.5 billion customer investment plan.
“The aircraft delivers a 25% reduction in CO2 emissions compared to the aircraft it replaces, another step towards our commitment to net zero carbon emissions by 2050.
“It will also offer greater comfort for our customers, as it features our latest generation seats in all cabins.”
BA has 12 787-10 Dreamliners on order, six of which are due to arrive in 2020.
Its fleet currently features 12 787-8 aircraft and 787-9 Dreamliners.
