A British estate agent has been stabbed to death on the last night of a holiday in Ayia Napa.
George Low suffered fatal neck injuries when he was attacked while out clubbing with friends on Saturday night (August 13) in the Cypriot party resort.
A friend of the 22-year-old from Kent was also stabbed in the back by a pair of attackers, but his injuries were not life-threatening, the Telegraph.co.uk reports.
Low had worked as a night club manager in the destination for two seasons but had since returned to the UK to work as an estate agent.
He had been visiting friends in Cyprus for a week and was due to fly home just hours before he was attacked.
Low’s mother Helen Low, 47, a community carer, received the news of her son’s death after a phone call from George’s friend in the early hours of Sunday morning.
She said: "We did not believe it at first and I didn’t think it could be him, I still don’t believe it even though I now know it’s true.
"George absolutely lived life to the full and he got on with everybody. He was very, very popular.
"He was not a fighter, he just wanted to enjoy life.
"The Foreign Office are being very good and they are waiting on a report back from the police about what happened. They are scouring CCTV to try and find George’s two attackers.
"He went there for a week in June for his birthday with some friends too. We were all so proud of him and he was our world."
