The Caribbean Tourism Organization, the organisers, will be holding events including Meet The Media, Tweet Ups, a Diaspora Media Lunch, roadshows and networking events. All are open to tourism professionals selling products and services in the Caribbean.
On September 7, the CTO will host a Tweet Up between 3-4pm, with a focus on island hopping using the hashtag #islandhopping. A second Tweet Up will take place on September 12, from 3-4pm, exploring Caribbean facts, #CaribbeanFacts.
Meet the Media takes place on September 18, offering an opportunity for those selling the Caribbean to network with key UK media. This takes place at The Cinnamon Kitchen, London at 6pm. Invited media includes national newspapers, magazines and trade press.
Caribbean Month celebrations are also heading up north with two Caribbean Roadshows. The first is in Newcastle on September 19, 6-9.30pm at the Assembly Rooms, Fenkle Street. The following night’s will be in Liverpool, from 6-9.30pm at the Doubletree by Hilton, Sir Thomas Street.
Each roadshow features partners including Sandals Resorts, Barbados Tourism Marketing, The Bahamas Tourist Office, Grenada Tourism Authority, Tobago Division of Tourism, AMResorts, Cayman Islands Department of Tourism and Advantage Management Group. Each will feature a Caribbean buffet.
On 21 September, the first Diaspora Media Lunch will be held at The Fable Restaurant, London, from 11-2pm. It brings together media and professionals targeting the diaspora including bloggers, influencers and media personnel.
