Carnival UK has reinforced its commitment to the trade with the launch of its new Cunard and P&O Cruises Partnership Team.
The renaming comes after the cruise lines boosted their joint sales team by 30%.
However,Alex White, Carnival UK vice-president sales, insisted that the move was more than just a rebrand.
“This is not just a rebranding exercise,” he said. “This is a definitively new way of working with our travel agent partners.
“Travel agents remain responsible for a vast majority of our bookings so they are pivotal to our success. We deal with all sizes of agents, from large travel companies to small independent cruise specialists and it’s essential we find ways to engage, educate and inspire this community as a whole."
The lines said the new Cunard and P&O Cruises Partnership Team will look to boost its relationship between its agent partners through a new, dedicated local regional support team.
White added: “Above all, we need to ensure that cruising is front of mind for all agents and for anyone booking a holiday; whether it is a city break, a family holiday, winter sun escape or something more exotic.”
The last few months have seen a number of high-profile personnel changes at Carnival UK.
Jeremy McKenna stepped down from as head of sales for in December with White joining the line from sister brand Princess Cruises on the same day.
Since then, Carnival UK has continued to boost the number of people working across both brands.
