Celebrity Millennium has emerged from a 35-day refit, the first of the Celebrity Cruises fleet to undergo a bow-to-stern transformation.
Millennium was refitted in the Sembawang Shipyard in Singapore, where the ship became the first to benefit from Celebrity’s $500 million upgrade programme.
The ship boasts remodelled staterooms and suites, and the addition of Kelly Hoppen-designed sundeck The Retreat for suite-class guests. There are also new restaurants, bars, a spa and casino, plus a range of designer boutiques.
“This is such an exciting moment for us as we finally get to share the new Celebrity Millennium with the world,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Celebrity’s president and chief executive.
“She has been transformed from top to bottom. I want to share my deepest gratitude with the teams who have worked so hard to make this happen, and I can’t wait for our guests to experience this revolution.”
Celebrity Summit has now entered dry dock in the Bahamas for a similar transformation, with seven more ships to be modernised by 2023 as part of the Celebrity Revolution programme.
