Cruise Lines International Association (Clia) has hosted an inaugural conference for Irish travel agents.
More than 80 Irish agents attended the full-day Ireland Cruise Conference at the Red Cow Moran Hotel in Dublin on 20 November.
Speakers at the event, which was themed on newcomers to cruise, included biologist and TV presenter Patrick Aryee and Tony Roberts, Princess Cruises’ UK and Europe vice-president and Clia’s UK and Ireland chair.
Agents also met cruise line representatives at a trade fair.
“We were delighted to welcome so many Irish agents our first-ever Ireland Cruise Conference in Dublin yesterday,” said Andy Harmer, Clia UK and Ireland director.
“It is a very exciting time for the Irish cruise market, with more Irish travellers choosing to cruise than ever before and we couldn’t be happier with the response we received from delegates.
“As more Irish holidaymakers are realising the value and benefits a cruise holiday offers, it’s fantastic to see that the Irish trade are eager to grow their cruise sales.
“We’re thrilled to see agents support the industry by getting involved in events such as the Ireland Cruise Conference and we look forward to working closer with the Irish trade next year and beyond.”
He also announced the launch of a Clia New to Cruise guide, which is available on its brochure agent materials page.
