Date set for 2020 New to Touring and Adventure Festival
TTG StaffTTG Media’s New to Touring and Adventure Festival will return next March in a new venue, aiming to build on the success of this year’s inaugural event.
Travel agents from across the country, all new to the touring and adventure sector, gathered at Manchester’s Concorde Centre in June where they met with nearly 20 tour operators, destinations and suppliers including Travel 2, Intrepid Travel, Saga, Hurtigruten and Dominica.
The second edition of the festival will be held on 23 March 2020 at Thinktank Birmingham Science Museum.
The day-long, free-to-attend event will feature exclusive conference sessions, a trade fair and agent-supplier round table-style speed networking meetings.
All qualifying agents, predominantly those who have not previously sold touring and adventure or have sold very little due to their lack of sector or product knowledge, will also be provided with free accommodation the night before the event (22 March) and an invitation to a welcome drinks event.
Matt Roclawski, TTG Media sales and marketing director, said: “We are confident the festival will be hugely beneficial both for agents who are new to the touring and adventure sector and the suppliers who offer such a diverse array of product.”

Meanwhile, suppliers have hailed the TTG New to Touring and Adventure Festival “a great platform” to introduce agents to the increasingly diverse and vibrant array of product at their disposal.
The event on 23 March 2020 will bring dozens of agents new to the touring and adventure sector face-to-face with some of its most trade-friendly exponents.
Inghams head of agency sales Julie Franklin said by working with TTG, the operator was able to gain access to a group of professionals keen to tap into what she described as a “rapidly growing market”.
“We found the [June] event to be a great platform to introduce Inghams’ escorted and self-guided tours to agents,” said Franklin. “Our aim is to generate more awareness and demonstrate we offer much more variety than one might initially expect.”
Mercury Holidays national sales manager David Hood added: “For me, it is a chance to get the message out we have a strong, diversified escorted touring product. We have seen sales of exclusive escorted tours grow dramatically since the event, which gave us access to agents we hadn’t previously worked with.”
