A valet parking firm at Gatwick has left passengers unable to retrieve their vehicles after reportedly closing down.
Police have helped trace around 120 vehicles left at sites in Sussex and Surrey after Gatwick First Parking ceased trading. Around 30 passengers are still to retrieve their cars, while the company’s website has been suspended.
A Gatwick airport spokesman said: “Whilst we recognise the distress and inconvenience caused, and sympathise with any of our passengers that have been affected, Gatwick Airport has no relationship with Gatwick First Parking as it is not an officially approved off-airport parking operator.
“Any passengers affected by the company’s closure should contact Trading Standards who are investigating the matter.”
Gatwick has a list of approved meet and greet brands. They are: ABC Parking Airparks, Just Valet Parking, Airport Parking & Hotels, Cophall Parking, Help Me Park, I Love Meet & Greet, Maple Manor, Purple Parking, Ace Meet & Greet and Tudor Rose.
