Members of a British stag party are facing potential fines of up to £20,000 each after the pilot was forced to divert the plane they were on due to their unruly behaviour.
The Ryanair plane was forced to land the aircraft in Berlin after members of the group reportedly became aggressive when they were refused more alcohol.
The flight, which had been en route between London to Bratislava in Slovakia, was forced to land in the German capital to eject the bachelor party according to local news reports.
Local police said the drunk Brits, who were aged between 25-28 and were from Southampton, were met by officers at Schoenefeld airport, and now face fines of up to £19,700 and civil claims from Ryanair, The Telegraph reported.
A Ryanair spokesperson said: "This flight from London Luton to Bratislava diverted to Berlin after a number of passengers became disruptive in-flight.
"The aircraft landed normally and police removed and detained these individuals at Berlin Schonefeld Airport.
"We will not tolerate unruly or disruptive behaviour at any time and the safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority. This is now a matter for local police."
There have been growing concerns amongst airlines in recent months about the increasing number onboard incidents involving drunk passengers.
Last week Cranberries singer Dolores O’Riordan was fined €6,000 for head-butting and spitting on a police officer after an alleged air rage incident.
And in November a drunk passenger on a BA flight from London to Boston had to be restrained after she tried to open the exit door.
Last summer Jet2 announced it wanted to crack down on drunken and disorderly behaviour on flights, and said it would be putting measures into place to deal with disruptive passengers.
