Ian Scott is leaving Dubai Tourism to take up a newly created role at representation, tourism and marketing company AMG.
Scott has been a director for the UK and Ireland markets at the emirate for eight years.
At AMG he will join the existing management team of Nadine Rankin and Darren Pearson.
Scott will work across AMG’s three core businesses: AMG Representation, Mybookingrewards.com (MBR) and Exposure4.
During his time at Dubai the number of UK visitors rose from 750,000 in 2007 to 1.2 million in 2015.
Scott will take up the role at the end of March.
Scott said: “AMG is already responsible for numerous tourist boards, hotels and DMCs throughout the Caribbean, Asia and Africa so, by drawing on my Dubai experience, the addition of a Middle East division is likely to be an early priority.”
Pearson, managing partner of MBR and Exposure4, said: “Ian’s proven strategic experience in developing multi-channel marketing activities and his ability to build strong relationships with key tourism industry stakeholders means he is perfectly placed to help us achieve our group’s growth plans.”
