EasyJet check-in staff Stansted strike suspended

A 72-hour strike by easyJet check-in staff due to start this morning at Stansted has been suspended.

Emirates today announced that it is to launch a new daily route from Dubai (DXB) to London Stansted

The walk-out would have affected thousands of passengers travelling from the airport on one of the busiest weekends of the British summer.


Unite union announced the shelving of industrial action yesterday (25 July) while staff vote on a revised pay offer.


Other strikes remain planned for 2-5 August, 9-12 August 16-19 August and 23-27 August.


Unite represents 43 passenger service agents employed by Stobart Aviation Services, which holds the easyJet contract at the Essex airport.


The union suspended strike action after day-long talks with Stobart management mediated by Acas.
