Finnair has stepped up to fill demand for Lapland flights following the collapse of Thomas Cook.
From December 20, the Finnish airline will operate three extra flights each day between Helsinki and Lapland in order to accommodate travellers affected by Cook’s failure.
Finnair will operate an additional 23 flights in total between 20 December 2019 and 5 January 2020.
Flights from Heathrow via Helsinki start from £255 return, including taxes and charges.
The extra flights come in addition to Finnair’s seasonal Gatwick-Ivalo service operating between 8 December 2019 and 22 March 2020 and Gatwick-Kittila service from 15 December 2019 and 8 March 2020.
“Finnair is flying to the rescue of Thomas Cook customers left high and dry following the company’s collapse by offering extra flights to Lapland this Christmas,” said Andrew Fish, Finnair general manager UK, Ireland and Benelux.
“We know how important it is for families to enjoy time together at Christmas and Lapland offers an amazing festive getaway.”
