Trafalgar has unveiled its 2020 US and Canada programme featuring 12 new itineraries, including a trip exploring the history and culture of North America’s First Nations people.
The trip, says Trafalgar, builds on its ongoing JoinTrafalgar sustainable travel initiatives, which aim to make a difference to the people, wildlife and environments in the communities in which it operates.
Its 10-day Southwest Native Trails itinerary leads in from £2,995pp, departing April 2020, taking in ruins, dwellings and places of great cultural significance such as Window Rock, the seat of government and capital of the Navajo Nation in Arizona.
Trafalgar’s 10- or 17-day Majestic Alaska itinerary, meanwhile, leads in from £2,975pp departing May 2020 and includes a visit to a musk ox farm in Palmer, where guests will learn about sustainable production of the once-endangered animal’s qiviut wool, which provides income for Alaskan natives.
National parks, wild landscapes and coastal road trips also all feature prominently in the programme.
“We are constantly innovating to offer eye-opening experiences,” said Trafalgar chief executive Gavin Tollman. “Our new JoinTrafalgar trip, delving into Native American culture, is truly different.”
New additions range from five to 20 days and include Utah’s Mighty Five National Parks (10 days), New York Explorer (five days) and The Great Trans-Canadian Journey (13/20 days).
